Kowloon Masjid Dawah Committee
Dawah Committee of Kowloon Masjid has been serving
for decades to inspire Non-Muslims by enhancing their awareness about
the golden principles of Islam. Particularly since 2008, the committee’s
operation has been more active and effective.
The committee operates under the supervision of the Incorporated
Trustees of the Islamic Community Fund of Hong Kong. Every year, two
Open Days are organized on which invitation is extended to everyone,
especially to Non-Muslims to visit Kowloon Masjid to learn more about
Islam -- a complete way of life. On these Open Days, participants are
provided with Islamic Books and other learning materials published in
English and Chinese languages. Masjid tour is also arranged and visitors
are provided with comprehensive briefing about the operation of the
Masjid and the Islamic Centre. By the grace of Allah (s.w.t.) visitors
always bring back a very positive impression about Islam after attending
the Open Days.
The Committee also organizes two regular courses namely Elementary
Islamic Course and Intermediate Islamic Course throughout the year. Each
course lasts for 12 weeks. Classes are conducted on Saturdays afternoon
between Zuhur and Asr prayers. Lecture, PowerPoint and Video
presentations are delivered in English and Chinese languages in the
well-equipped Conference Hall of the Masjid. As a result of the
dedicated efforts contributed by the members of the Dawah Committee,
number of participants has increased to 103 and 56 in the recent
Elementary Islamic Course conducted in Chinese and English languages
respectively.
At the end of each course, certificates of completion are awarded to
participants with 70% or above attendance. We are pleased to share that
as a result of the dedicated efforts invested by the Kowloon Masjid
Dawah Committee, many Non-Muslims converted to Islam after being
inspired and enlightened by the golden principles of Islam. Currently
Mr. Matin Farooqi is serving as the Chairman of the Dawah Committee. The
committee has more than twenty members who work selflessly for the
noble cause of Dawah. May Allah (s.w.t.) accept their great efforts
(Ameen) !
